It appears that the Utah Jazz have opted to tear things down to the studs and embark on a full rebuild.
The most successful coach the team had some the late Jerry Sloan, Qunin Synder, left the team earlier this season. This was then chased soon thereafter with the trade of defensive anchor and second nest player Rudy Gobert, and now it seems like the last major piece of the team, Donavam Mitchell could finally been the move.
According to reporting from The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Tony Jones, the New York Knicks and the Utah jazz have entered into talks regarding a potential trade surrounding the three-time All-Star.
Trade rumors have surrounded Mitchell for sometime, particularly after the conclusion of the Jazz’s season, exacerbated by the schism between himself and Rudy Gobert reaching a point of no return and that this collection of players seemingly hit their ceiling.
The Jazz are apparently focused getting draft capital and no player on their roster is untouchable.
This past season Mitchell averaged 23.9 points, 4.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds on.448/.355.853 splits.
